Prices and the visit
How a repair price gets written
The menu gives you a starting price over the phone. After Juan has seen the roof, you get a written price: every line, the tax on its own line, and nothing added later without your say.

A sample written price
What the paper looks like
A sample for a leak by a bathroom vent. Your price has your own lines, each with its own amount, and your own total.
Sample: leak near a bathroom vent
Plus New Mexico gross receipts tax, shown as its own line.
- Visit, roof check and attic check
- New collar and sealant on one vent pipe
- Six cracked tiles replaced, with underlayment
- Cleanup and photos of the finished repair
An example. Your price lists your own repair, line by line.
The visit
What happens when we come out
- 01
Step 1: We walk around the house first
We look at the ceiling stain and the outside walls, and ask when the water shows up.
- 02
Step 2: We check the attic
If there's a way up, we follow the water back to where it comes in.
- 03
Step 3: We climb the roof
With a harness and a ladder, and photos of everything we find.
- 04
Step 4: We write the price
The repair, and a new-roof price beside it on an older roof. You get it by text or in person.
What moves the price
Five things that change a repair
The kind of roof
Tile needs matching pieces. Flat roofs need patch material and coating.
How hard it is to reach
A steep or two-story roof takes more time and more safety gear.
How many spots
One spot is on the menu. More than one is priced as a job.
What's underneath
Soft or rotted wood is replaced by the sheet, and we show you the photo first.
The tax
New Mexico gross receipts tax applies to roof work. It's on its own line on your price.
Questions about price
Does the visit cost anything?
Not inside our service area. The visit and the written price cost nothing. Past the edge of the area we may charge for the trip, and we'll say so before we come.
Is the menu price what I'll pay?
It's where we start. The price on paper, after we've seen the roof, is the one that counts, and it won't change unless you ask us to do more.
When do I pay?
When the repair is done and you've seen the photos. Larger jobs may have a deposit, which we write on the price.
Ready for a price on paper?
Send a photo, and we'll tell you if it's on the menu.
